Mike Hourihan has dedicated the past 16 years to serving as a Flight Paramedic with Boston MedFlight. He reflects on this time as a journey filled with extremes. Witnessing the recovery of patients he once cared for, who were critically ill, fills him with profound grace and joy. “I feel extremely fortunate to have been chosen for this work and have enjoyed a career alongside the best people in the business,” he shares.

Beyond his direct care for patients, Mike has played a pivotal role in developing a medical simulation training program at Boston MedFlight—an achievement he takes great pride in. As he notes, challenging the best nurses and medics in the industry is no easy feat, yet he and his team have successfully expanded and enhanced the program. Those who know him commend Mike for his knowledge, expertise, and creativity in bringing realistic simulations to life.
